Layla Graffiti Top Coat

Hi there! Today I'm going to show you the new Layla Graffiti Top Coat in black and red. As I mentioned in this post this is the year of the Crackle comeback, and it's being introduced here in Italy for the first time this year. Layla has a range of 6 colors: white, black, red, yellow, pink, red and blue for about 7/11€ each.
I've been sent the black and red ones to show you, so I tried out different color combinations and finishes (glossy with top coat or matte without it).

Buon pomeriggio! Oggi ho per voi degli swatches del Layla Graffiti Top Coat nei colori rosso e nero. Come vi avevo già detto in questo post introduttivo, quest'anno è tornato di moda il Crackle lacquer, (persino la OPI ne produrrà uno) ed è arrivato anche da noi. La Layla ha una linea di 6 colori: bianco, nero, giallo, rosa, rosso e blu che potete trovare nelle profumerie e negozi specializzati per prezzi che variano dai 7 agli 11€. La Layla è stata così gentile da fornirmi questi due colori da swatchare e io mi sono sbizzarrita con gli abbinamenti e i finish (lucido con una passata di top coat e matte al naturale).

MAC Bad Fairy

Hi there! Today I'm finally posting swatches of the last polish from the Venomous Villains collection, MAC Bad Fairy. Once again this can be described as packed with shimmer, it goes from red to fuchsia to copper. I think it's the least original of the three, it's pretty, but it's not unique enough to deserve its place in this collection.
I used the usual 3 coats and top coat.

Buon pomeriggio! Oggi riesco finalmente a postare gli swatches dell'ultimo smalto dalla Venomous Villains collection, MAC Bad Fairy. Come gli altri due anche questo contiene microglitter effetto shimmer, in questo caso che va dal rosso al fucsia al ramato.  Rispetto agli altri due credo sia il meno originale, pur essendo un bello smalto non è abbastanza unico per essere degno di questa collezione.
Negli swatches ho dato le solite 3 passate e il top coat.

KIKO 245 'Rubino Scuro Perlato'

Hi again! Today's polish is KIKO 245 'Rubino Scuro Perlato', which translates to 'Dark Pearly Ruby'.

It's a dark plum base with an amazing gold/red shimmer that sparkles in the sunlight. Application was smooth and easy and so was the formula. The swatches are 3coats as usual and top coat. :)




Buon pomeriggio! Lo smalto di oggi è KIKO 245 'Rubino Scuro Perlato', che consiste in una base scura color prugna ed un bellissimo effetto shimmer rosso/dorato.
Al solito, 3 passate + top coat. ;)

Eyeko Vampira Polish

Happy monday everyone! Eyeko Vampira Polish "for Gothic Nails" is the polish du jour.
The concept is not revolutionary, China Glaze did it first with Lubu Heels and then many others followed, but it's well executed, with bright red glitter that stands out in a lovely black base.
The application was painless, I did my usual 3 coats, and then shined it all up with 1 coat of top coat. I can't say much about removal, I didn't even let it dry before moving on to the next polish to swatch, but I suppose it wouldn't kill you with its "glittery vampire fangs". ;)



Buon lunedì! Eyeko Vampira Polish "for Gothic Nails" è lo smalto du jour.
Il concetto di mettere del glitter rosso in una base nera non è rivoluzionario: la China Glaze l'ha fatto per prima con Lubu Heels e poi molti altri hanno seguito l'esempio, ma devo dire che Vampira è fatto molto bene, il glitter è di un rosso acceso che non passa inosservato nella base nera.
Metterlo è stato indolore, ho dato le mie solite 3 passate e poi ho lucidato il tutto con 1 passata di top coat.
Non avendolo neanche fatto asciugare prima di passare al successivo smalto da swatchare non so dirvi cosa succede quando lo si toglie, ma suppongo non vi ucciderebbe con i suoi "canini da vampiro sbrilluccicoso". ;)

Zoya Nephratiti

Hello again! Today I have pics of Zoya Nephratiti for you. This is my first Zoya, a bright red with a bit of pink shimmer.
It's not the most exciting shade ever, so I mattified it with Essie Matte About You.
Doesn't look half bad, does it? ^^




Di nuovo ciao a tutti! Oggi è il turno di Zoya Nephratiti, il mio primo smalto Zoya. E' un rosso acceso con effetto shimmer rosa.
Non è il colore più originale del mondo, quindi ho pensato di renderlo matte con Essie Matte About You.
Niente male, no? ^^

Zoya Delilah

Hi there! Today's polish is Zoya Delilah, a red base with red microglitter, a close relative to China Glaze Ruby Pumps.
I don't have much to say about this except it's shiny and it applies like butter.
Pics are 3 coats + top coat, taken in shade because of sucky weather.

L'applicazione è eccellente ed anche la tenuta. Nelle foto come al solito 3 passate e top coat.

Happy monday! Today's polish is Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Golden Tourmaline. It's a unique glittery prismatic fuchsia/red, I really love it.

Well, hi again :). I know I've really been slacking in the posting department, but right now it's not my best time of the year, since I have killer allergies and asthma attacks. Since I'm not going to make it all worse inhaling polish fumes, I'll just show you some pics of Deborah polish I took a while ago.

Buon pomeriggio a tutti/e. Mi rendo conto di star tralasciando di nuovo il blog, ma purtroppo soffro d'asma ed ho varie allergie, quindi questo periodo è uno dei peggiori dell'anno per me, e non mi pare il caso di peggiorare la situazione inalando i fumi dello smalto.
Comunque, per ora ho delle foto di tre smalti Deborah che ho fatto qualche tempo fa.

Maybelline Foreverstrong - 362A Ruby Vamp

This fine afternoon I have pics of what I'll define an Italian polish, since I bought it here, even though Maybelline is not an Italian company.
It's Maybelline Foreverstrong 362A Ruby Vamp, a dark red base with almost pink glitter.












I think this was part of a limited edition collection, since it disappeared not long after I bought it (for about 7€ along with 690A, Rock 'n Ruby, a black polish with a shimmer that's subtle in the bottle and disappears on the nail. I won't waste your time or mine with pics of that).

Oggi vi mostro uno smalto che metterò nella categoria degli smalti italiani, anche se la Maybelline non è italiana, semplicemente perchè l'ho comprato qui.
Come si vede dalle foto è una base rosso (molto) scuro con del glitter che definirei rosa. L'ho acquistato all'Upim di Termini e credo fosse parte di una collezione in limited edition, perchè l'espositore dopo pochi giorni è sparito e non sono riuscita a trovarlo da nessun'altra parte. Insieme a questo smalto quel giorno ho preso anche 609A Rock 'n Ruby, della stessa collezione. E' un nero che nella boccetta sembra avere micro particelle che fanno un effetto "shimmer", ma una volta asciugato sull'unghia è un semplicissimo smalto nero. Mi sono pentita di averci speso 7€.

Per oggi è tutto, a domani con un altro colore! :)

CoverGirl Crackle Lacquer Boo! Hou! over Color Club Catwalk

Today I bring you a polish I'm hugely proud of owning: CoverGirl Crackle Lacquer in Boo! Hou!. I bought it on eBay from a seller that's no longer registered at a very reasonable price ($15,95 shipping included) as part of my Christmas gift from my mother. Thanks mom!
Anyways, last week I passed an exam, so on the way home I decided to celebrate and buy a polish. I bought Color Club Catwalk, and once home I took off the "sober" polish I'd put on for the exam, and applied Catwalk. I have to say I adore Color Club polishes, their brush is much better in my eyes than the pro-wide one on OPIs.
But after letting it dry I decided it was too boring, too normal, so I applied another coat, took out my beautiful Crackle polish and let it work its magic. Then I applied a generous coat of Seche Vite.

These were taken inside with flash, since the weather was, and still is, dreadful.








Notice the shape of the crackle on my thumb? I came to the conclusion it looked like a fox or a chihuahua with a scorpion's tail :).

Lo smalto di oggi (CoverGirl Crackle Lacquer in Boo! Hou!) è uno smalto molto difficile da reperire, perchè non viene più prodotto da quasi 10 anni. L'ho comprato su eBay.com per $15.95 comprese le spese di spedizione da un venditore non più registrato. Ringrazio mia madre, visto che per Natale mi ha caricato la PostePay e lasciato spendere tutto in smalti XD.
Continuando nel mio racconto, la scorsa settimana ho passato un esame di linguistica all'università, così ho deciso di farmi un regalino. Mentre tornavo a casa sono passata per la Upim della stazione Termini ed ho acquistato Catwalk di Color Club.
Arrivata a casa ho tolto lo smalto "serio" che avevo scelto per andare a fare l'esame e l'ho subito messo, ma nonostante l'applicatore perfetto che ha questa marca, non mi convinceva il colore, troppo ordinario.
Ho quindi dato un'altra mano di colore e sul colore bagnato ho applicato lo smalto Crackle della Covergirl. Ho poi fissato tutto con una mano generosa di Seche Vite.
Questo smalto va applicato sopra un altro colore ancora bagnato, e quando si asciuga si cominciano a vedere delle fratture nello smalto, che lasciano vedere il colore che si è messo sotto.
Si può ovviamente mettere qualsiasi colore, in questo caso Catwalk è rosso, quindi si vede il nero di Boo! Hou! e sotto il rosso.

Le foto che vedete sopra sono state fatte in casa con il flash, visto il brutto tempo.

Debby ColorPlay 48

For my first real post I bring you an Italian polish: Debby ColorPlay 48.

I bought it at a local shop for 4.5€.

I adore this color, it's the second time I wear it and I think it could be a darker sibling to China Glaze Ruby Pumps, since it's red and has lighter red microglitter in it. At least it's the closest thing us Italians will ever have.
It took two coats to have an even color, which is a pity, because with only one coat the color is lighter and looks even more like Ruby Pumps.
I topped it with Seche Vite.

Pics taken in direct sunlight. I still have to figure out how to enable the "click for bigger" option, so click here for the time being: 1 - 2.

Anyways I plan on buying the Lubu manicure set on eBay, so I'll be able to post a comparison between Ruby Pumps and this one. ;)

Nel mio primo vero post vi mostro uno smalto italiano, Debby ColorPlay 48.

L'ho acquistato un mesetto fa da Acqua e Sapone per 4.50€.

Lo trovo semplicemente adorabile, se conoscete Ruby Pumps di China Glaze forse potrete trovare delle somiglianze.

Per ottenere il risultato che vedete nelle foto ci sono voluti due "strati" di smalto, il che è un pò un peccato perchè con la prima passata il colore è più chiaro e si scurisce con la seconda.

Le foto sono state fatte in balcone, con il meraviglioso sole che splende oggi su Roma ;). Come top coat ho usato Seche Vite, acquistato da beautyzone2007.
